2-Day Coil, Slab & Sgraffito Ceramics Workshop

Join us for a relaxed but properly hands-on two-day ceramics workshop exploring coil and slab building, finished with sgraffito decoration. This course is suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to more confident makers looking to loosen up, experiment and push their surfaces a bit.

Across the weekend, you’ll design, build and decorate your own functional or sculptural pieces, with guidance on form, structure and surface — plus plenty of space to follow your instincts and make something that actually feels like yours. Expect clear demonstrations, lots of individual support, and an encouraging studio atmosphere that values curiosity over perfection.

The workshop runs 10am–4pm on both days and is kept to a small group so there’s time for questions, experimentation, and getting properly stuck in.

• All clay, tools and materials
• Tuition in coil and slab building techniques
• Sgraffito decorating methods
• Tea, coffee and soft drinks throughout the day
• Firing and glazing of all finished pieces

All work will be fired and glazed after the course by Bunny and will be ready to collect approximately 4 weeks later.

• An apron or clothes you don’t mind getting a bit clay-dusted

This is a chance to slow down, work with your hands, and make thoughtful, slightly wonky, very human objects — in good company, with decent coffee and zero pressure to be “good at it”.
